About Jonathan Roques

I am a biologist, specialized in animal welfare, ecophysiology and behavior of aquatic species. My research addresses basic mechanistic questions about how animals face challenges and disturbances from anthropogenic origin.

My main research interest is to optimize the rearing conditions and welfare of animals in aquaculture practices. I use a multidisciplinary approach, combining physiological (stress, metabolism, osmoregulation), behavioral and growth parameters to study the impact of current practices on fish welfare.

I am currently involved in the NOMACULTURE project, which aims to find optimal rearing conditions of wolffish sp. in Swedish recirculating aquaculture systems (RAS).
